The Dirty Fade Selvedge is a 14.5oz indigo rope dyed Japanese selvedge denim, woven on vintage shuttle looms in a right hand twill construction. The indigo dyed warp yarns start off as a dusty brown shade of cotton. Over time with wear, layers of indigo will begin fade away revealing a brown undertone, hence the name Dirty Fade. Other details include contrast stitching, roughout tan leather patch, red selvedge ID, silver metallic buttons and rivets.
The Easy Guy is a relaxed tapered fit; high rise, fuller in the seat and thigh with a sharp taper from knee to hem.
At 14.5oz probably the heaviest weight jeans I’ve ever owned. Quite stiff at first leading to some discomfort, but that’s part of the journey with raw denim. Starting to mold to my body and soften up after 4-5 days of wear. The textured heavy weight feel of the fabric feels reassuring and the look with the contrasting stitching and depth of colour is definitely premium. Can be challenge getting sizing right ordering online, so be prepared for that.
Found my size over at Muttonhead, quick and easy transaction, would do business again.
Can't go wrong with anything from Naked & Famous. Picked this pair up to wear for the summer as I'm required to wear pants at my job. The brown hues are already showing after 2 weeks of everyday wear. Looking forward to seeing the fades/ contrasts by autumn.
